Dimensions of the Human Figure
These dimensions are based on the average or normal adult. As clearances are minimum they should be increased when conditions will allow. Table, desk and other sitting work-top heights are shown 2' - 5"; however some authorities prefer 2' - 6" or 2' - 6 1/2". See sheets on children's furniture for their sizes and furniture. I received a photocopy of the drawings on this page from a co-worker in 1977. I believe they were published in a book, possibly a guide for architects. Ernest Irving Freese was an architect.
